Recently, cPanel has introduced a method to scan ports commonly used by WHM/cPanel (such as 2087 and 2083) across various IP ranges. When these ports are detected as open, cPanel checks their database for a valid license. They will send you an email notification if no valid license is found.
Please note that this email is primarily a marketing effort to encourage direct license purchases from cPanel. It is important to understand that their claims about updates are misleading.
Rest assured that our cPanel licenses continue to receive all future updates. cPanel does not have direct control over your servers. While cPanel no longer offers an unlimited cPanel account license, we still provide this option. Additionally, we offer comprehensive support for cPanel.
